With a day off on the 23rd May I though, why not head to Tentsmuir forest and beach and see what delights we have. The Drive to Tentsmuir forest is pretty nice, very narrow single track roads but with ample passing places. When you arrive at the entrance it states that you need £2.00 for parking at the Beach, handy as I did forget once and the barrier is a good bit up from the Beach itself, so sadly there is not really anyway to get change if you don't have any on you.
The car park is open from from 8am daily so plenty of time to explore in the morning, from April to September the car park closes at 8:30pm. Between October to Mark it closes at sunset, so if your car is parked after then, well I hope you brought your tent.
When you arrive at the car park there are a good number of spaces, so parking shouldn't be a problem. There are picnic areas in abundance and thats not including the beach, there's also a Crepe Shack and toilet facilities. So Tentsmuir really does cater for all, but remember to take all your rubbish home, as this is no dumbing ground.
Tentsmuir has so many trails and walks for bikes to dog walkers, the trails are bumpy in places but certainly suitable for cyclocross bikes, not just mountain bikes. The trails can go on for miles and miles. Now to the beach, super clean and vast to say the least, you can also get to Tayport from walking the full length of the beach. You could spend hours here exploring, so £2.00 is a bargain especially if that helps to maintain this beautiful nature reserve.
